| Finally Got Myself a Website So I finally got a website for Bang Recording Company. Yes this is a shameless plug of the site. I included a section for anyone who cares called Recording Notes where I discuss some recording techniques, this month its got an article (with pretty pictures) about recording heavy guitars ala Godsmack, Staind, Sevendust, etc. So check it out, tell me if you like it or if you think it absolutely blows.. happy new year, here is the link www.bangrecording.com Steve my mp3s: http://www.blacklinerock.com/music/R...NEROCK.COM.mp3 http://www.blacklinerock.com/music/K...NEROCK.COM.mp3 |

| Lives for gear | Very cool, man :-) Congrats. Might be a little more suited to the good news forum. BTW- who is the artist on "knees"? That's my favorite recording I've heard from you. |

| Lives for gear | I think the song itself is actually really pretty bad ass and your vocals are great for this style. Really less obnoxious than the Godsmack guy, who I can't stand. The vocals and song actually stuck out more to me than the recording, and the recording is very good! The one part that stuck out to me as a little immature and laughable was the "whipe those tears off your face!!!" break part which seemed like such a genre cliche and sounded really forced which contrasted harshly with the really natural vocals that come right after it. But by and large I thought it rocked and I'm sure you're going to get a lot of good, fun work and that is a great thing. :-) |

| Lives for gear | Steve, I'm not nearly as big a fan of this genre of music as many other people are, but honestly, I can recognize quality work when I hear it. For this genre I think you easily hang with the 'big boys' and really think you even have one up on a band like Godsmack or Disturbed/Mudvayne (although I really don't think those groups are 'serious' enough to be considered as part of your specific sub group, which seems to be a little more authentic). I heard RUN (great vocal performance) a while back and did like it, though I think I prefer this one a lot more actually. Regarding that one specific section, I do think the effect makes it a little more cheesey- it's such an obvious 'everybody shout this!!' thing, and I like it more when the crowd discovers those things for themselves. An effect like this would be suitable live, but I generally don't like gimmicky performance stuff built into studio recordings. That is just a personal preference, and it may be an aesthetic of your genre. I just personally would take that song more seriously from start to stop if there were no break that seemed out of character with the vocals (which are very distinct and honest and melodic thruought) and obviously pandered to audience participation. By the way, listening to RUN again now too and this is also very good, seriously. I don't know if you know the band Sittin' Idol, but I think they're freaking phenomenal for this style. |

| Battle, again, thanks for the kind words and comments. I called a few people and asked more opinions on the "wipe those tears" line and it was kinda split. Half said it sounded like a typical modern rock song production thing and that AR guys will eat it up. The other half said I should just have sang it normal with no effect. Don't know what I'm going to do yet. Steve www.bangrecording.com www.blacklinerock.com |

| Eh -HEM Steve? What is this little nugget I found on your site? Hey Erin & other girls considering Steve - advice to you from someone who has been there. Steve is a MAN *****. Don't listen to his comments about how beautiful *and* cool you are. A good combo would be telling Steve to f**k off and staying away from him. He will just use you and add you to his list. He is all about promoting his band and getting laid. Nothing else. Oh, Anthony you wouldn't have called me, but only because I would never give you my number Don't you just hate it when that happens? from a guy who's had a few stalkers back in the day, I gotta tell ya;I'm so frealing jealous!!! A Gearslut and a man slut LOLOLOL Cool site |

| Randall, I see you have found "Days Of Our Guestbook"... apparently some girls just don't take kindly to getting nailed and then not called... I know I know, its crazy and I don't get it. I originally started erasing all the "PISSED GIRL" posts in the guestbook but then everyone started getting mad because they felt it was entertaining so I sucked it up and let the *****s post their nonsense... Funny stuff though. Thanks for checking the sites out. Steve www.bangrecording.com www.blacklinerock.com |

| Randall, the problem comes when my current girl who I just started dating looks at the guestbook and reads all that crap... "Pissed Girl" and "Original Pissed Girl" (yes there is two of these idiots who just don't know when they've been done with) have posted about 10 times, some I had to delete... and the new girl isn't liking what she's been reading.. lets just say its entertainment value far outweighs its role as a good resume!
