Hi, Im new to this forum so wasnt totally sure where to post this thread.

I am looking for a contact for Mixing engineer Andy Wallace, and if anyone knows roughly what his rates would be for recording.

Cheers,

i think you can expect to pay around $40K per week and a 1% royalty for him to mix stuff that you have already recorded.
any other questions?

well for an ep I would guess a flat $100K plus. Then studio time at $5K a week and then he wants royalties of probably 3 points. So a lot of money. Look elsewhere!!!

I think he's only mixing bands now. And he is supposed to be retiring
but I suppose money talks and BS walks.

Check out Josh Wilbur. He was Andy's assistant, and now works on his own. IMO he is the best up and coming Engineer/ Mixer out there.

Thanks man.
Ive came to the decision to stay in the UK for recording. Just dont think it would be justifiable at this moment in time.

Andy wallace

dead thread, but look into chicago veteran producer/mixer Sean O'Keefe. He's got two gold records, one platinum and if you track a small ep, its only $1000 a day! However, a full length cd starts at about $1000 per song, not to mention studio time. Mixing is about $500 per song. I've talked to him (he might produce my band's demo), he is very down to earth, and seems like he'd be a great guy to work with.
