modding a mic pre...is it worth it?

i own a Great river ME-1NV and an RNP that both I like very well. I also have an old ART Pro MPA 2 channel tube wannabe pre. I dont pretend to think I can turn it into the GR or the RNP, but when I dont drive the tube it doesnt sound "so" bad

Is there any mods I can do to help increase the ART's gain or whatever can be done to improve that piece and learn something at the same time?

There are mods on the web somewhere. I wish I could be more helpful but if you do a google search I think you may find something. Also, look for a guy named Roger Foote if all else fails and I'll try to find his phone #. He's also sometimes on the Musicplayer forums. He does some ART mods.

i looked for some mods but didnt see any on google. i too would be very interested in any ways to imrove its performance.
