Audio Gear Design Books

Hello Geeks,

I am on the lookout for some good books for the novice electrical engineer, also interested in books with an emphasis on analog audio gear design.
I am a beginner with basic soldering skills but with hardly any circuitry know-how. Any good books you can list that would help me get onto the right foot would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would think some of the staples of the Audio/EE trade are still the : "Handbook for Sound Engineers (3rd ed.)" by Glenn Ballou, editor and "The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz and Hill. Both could help you out if you ever decide to take a leap off the Brooklyn Bridge - they are heavy and expensive. I would also recommend forums such as WWW.DIYAUDIO.COM. There is a lot of information floating around by veritable electrical/computer engineers whose hobby is audio.
Cheers

I second Horowitz and Hill. Don't forget the Opamp Cookbook
by Walter Jung either. It may be out of print but your library
or Amazon should have a copy. For tubes, the old RCA handbooks
are a wealth of knowledge as well.

Thank you very much Bernd and Phil, I will be on the lookout for any of these.
