Thread Starter | Windscreen foam?
Can anyone suggest sources for obtaining replacement foam to go inside the windscreens of dynamic mics. I have a couple of EV N/D series mics in which the interior foam has disintegrated. I've not had much luck trying to get replacements from EV.

Did you try a memory foam from modern matresses? I've found it to be excellent to damp speaker cabinets. ******//i21.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/84/a5/c6_1_b.JPG |

Memory foam is cool stuff but it blocks sound. The foam covers sold at RS can be cut and they will last another 5 years before crumbling. These are "open cell" foam. All the foams crumble eventually and before that harden and change the sound of the mic. A very loose layer of cotton can do the job and last a long time. The Egyptians figured that out a while back.
