component manufacturer.

I have to replace a couple of break resistors(10 ohms 1/4watt) and some dual opamps .Does the manufacture matter as far as audio quality?what's a good place on-line to purchase?any suppliers in the N.Y. metro area? TIA BILL

Any metal film resistors should be fine - get the 1% tolerance.

As far as op-amps goes: Most manufacturers are pretty close to the same as long as it's a standard part like TL072, NE5534, LF353, etc. Sometimes you can get "A" bin parts that are tighter tolerances or Mil-spec that have better longevity and thermal operating area. This may not matter in your particular circuit, though.

Get whatever is available. If it sounds horrible, get something else.

Bill,

You're kidding, right? Open the Yellow Pages and look under "electronics". Between the wholesalers, retailers, and regular TV/Audio repair places, there's gotta be a thousand sources. There's probably one on your block. Certainly tons of places in Brooklyn alone.

If you're REAl lazy, try here:
