UAD Powered Plug-ins Delay Compensation

I used it yesterday to fix the flanging that occurred with a round trip through an Apogee PSX and an RME AES/EBU to Lightpipe converter and some analog. I measured the delay at 98-100 samples at 96kHz. This could be useful for other people mixing with a Vari-Mu.

I am not at all impressed with the sound of the compressors UAD offers as plug-ins. Their Pultec is OK, but extremely limited compared to the Manley's Massive Passive and doesn't sound nearly as good.

No.

What I was doing was trying NYC style compression i.e. using my Vari-Mu on an effect send with the delay compensation. I decided it isn't worth all the trouble and am now using an LA2 plug-in on bass and drums with the Vari-Mu on everything else. Eventually I'll get it right. Pity the UAD compressor plug-ins don't have cross limiting lke the originals.

I do like the Dream Verb. Now if UAD and/or Mackie would just send me the authorization code.
