AK5393 A/D Chips for Black Lion 002 Mod Last Run!

Hello to all interested, and/or contemplating this mod...

As a courtesy FYI, I want to let you know that I have only enough AK5393 A/D chips for 2 more units(8), and then the chips are no longer available internationally which also coincides with Black Lion Audio ceasing to offer the A/D chip upgrade once and for all. If you remember they stopped offering it, then reconsidered and reinstated it so long as the client "sourced" their own chips...but this time they will not offer the service at all, even if someone stumbled upon some chips down the road.

So this just a heads up to so many who have inquired, and perhaps thought, "maybe next time" or whatever, because I certainly got hounded with inquiries, and I'm sure this batch will be gone before long.

If you are interested, it makes more sense to use my email, ***<AT>commathebandDOTcom as GS has been a little funny recently, and I'm more on top of my email anyways. My email client also just makes it a lot more organized.

I kind of asked before, and moderaters, if you guys want to move this, cool, as this whole thing came out of the blue I don't know where to put this, but this is where the last one ended up, but I didn't start that one so it's in your hands...

My main question in the email was, "How much are the converters?".

UPDATE:

So I have just 4 chips left, enough for 1 002 unit. After these are sold, the A/D converter chip mod is officially discontinued from Black Lion even if you source your own chips, or ask me to source them for you. It's for real this time.

Heads up #2...

And yeah, my email is back up and running...My band's website is being rehauled and I changed hosting servers and didnt' realize that that would screw up my email...fixed now...sorry...

What are the possiblities of a `DIY` Digi 002 mod ?
I know BLA has this locked down for now, but for those of who are comfy with the soldering iron...
Is there anything the average shmoe can do to the 002 ?

I for one, could do without the Mic Pre amps & just gimme 8 decent line inputs.
Or shoot, just gimme 2 at least.

I just transferred an otherwise rugged (in a good way) sounding project from 1/4" to my PC using the 002 as the interface.
Thats when things went sour.

Thanks everyone for being so easy to work with and being appreciative of my efforts in getting the A/D chips for those who got them...everything went real smooth, and from what I've heard so far everybody's happy!

And yes, the final batch of chips are gone, and probably makes the Black Lion 002s with the A/D chips pretty limited and somewhat collectible? Anyways, pretty cool...

Thanks hombres!(and yes that's with the H fully pronounced in true gringo fashion...)
