Thread Starter | Sifam VU I have one that has been working half the time. It seems when I send some hot level into the meter( tone or cd program), it kind've jumps starts it, then it works. Although that dodgy technique isn't working anymore. tapping on the VU doesn't yield anything, the only way I was able to get it to work in the past was to slam it with hot program material. Do these things just die electrically over the years, or could it be a mechanical component stuck? Any ways, It seems like I'm gonna need a replacement, any leads?

| Hi I have known internal dirty connections on these and other meters. You MAY be lucky if you carefully take it apart and clean/ tighten connections. Bear in mind it is very sensitive and the magnet is strong so it will pick up screws etc off your workbench and touching the needle may damage needle or bearings. Otherwise call Sifam! Matt S |
