| Help identify this component In my quest to broaden my noobish electronics knowledge, I've decided to take on the task of cloning an old Heil Sound Power Supply. My current one is almost dead.... The power supply utilizes a 24V 400mA transformer. The Transformer feeds a tiny box looking component. Its the greenish box below the capacitor thats all the way to the right in the pic below. ![]() The actual component has writing on the side that says: L 4 AS BC-1 Any ideas? A google search hasn't turned back any results.![]() |

| Thats a bridge rectifier, look at the markings on the back, AC for the middle two, + and - for the outside pair. Unless you need to have two power supplies, just change the caps and the resistors on that board and reinstall. If you need to clone, I think any reasonable bridge rectifier would do the job, I guess get one that can pass at least double what the PSU needs.

| Hey you are welcome :-) Bridge rectifiers are quite easy to replace I think - they all do the same job, just some pass more current than others. That board is a good place to start with electronics, it is quite simple. Have fun, and watch that mains!
