MTR90MK2 Capstan failure

Looks like I managed to **** my Servo disc motor for the capstan on my MTR90 MK2.

I am trying otari, precision motor works and athan, to get a spare part one, but aside from that can anyone give me any more options to follow up.

Bummer...I'd ask how but....

Try John Klett or any of the guys at Tech Mecca. They usually have lots of Otari spares floating around.

Talking

Thanks Guys.

Don at www.larking.com did indeed have a entire spare capstan motor plus John Klett at http://www.technicalaudio.com was also kind enough to reply with some advice.

The best option in the end turned out to be at http://www.PrecisionMotorWorks.com who make a much improved motor with higher specs than the original. http://www.precisionmotorworks.com/P...o.Disc_Mtr.pdf

They claim "not a single faiure in 8 years" and this was backed up by John Klett and that all I needed to hear so I was sold.

PS, the otari guy at amber is away on holiday for 2 weeks. lol just my luck. Anyway, problem solved.

Im back!! 8 days in total. Pretty good I reckon to fnd, order, post, install a part from the other side of the world.

Could have been even quicker If I had paid higher postage, but Im quite happy with that.

Now where was I, ah thats it, about to do a drop in.

Yes they came in very usefull already when dealing with a nasty click track and a very light acoustic gituar part for the AFL grand final pre game stuff.

Also had them on a drummers head for a couple of days and no complaints there.

Thanks
