Effects loop of the Peavey Valveking

I'm interested in getting the Peavey Valveking. There's just one confusing thing about it:
What is a "buffered effects loop"?
Does it still bypass the preamp? Is it series or parallel?

I wanna be able to bypass the preamp because I'm gonna be using my Line 6 POD XT live for the sounds.

Anyone have a clue? I'm emailed Peavey's customer care but haven't heard back from them.
