AKG D 202 repair or schematics

Hello all,

A friend kindly gave me an AKG D 202 mic and I'd like to have it serviced, or to open it up and check it out myself.

So, does anyone happen to know of someone who can service this mic, or where I could find schematics for it? I am in France now, but am frequently in the US too.

The mic is in decent shape, and my friend says it works fine. But he tried to open it up and a screw came loose on the inside, and I can hear it moving around. So before I connect the mic to try it out, or manhandle it myself, I thought I'd check around and see if I could proceed with some care.

Thanks in advance.

AKG Model D 202 E1 and D 222

Here is a cut-away view and a schematic - not much to a dynamic mic (except the cross-over in this case).

Thanks very much for that link. I had seen that before posting, but was hoping to find more detailed info and possibly info on who might service this old mic if I run into problems esp. with the crossover.

Also, any ideas on where to locate very, very small and odd screws and bolts, in case I need to replace some?

Thanks again.

In the states, I'd say go online and find a gunsmith's supplier or an industrial supplier who carries maintenence items for machine tools.

I don't know about France.

The small metric screws for mics can sometimes be found through clock and watchmaker supply sources and/or modelmakers suppliers. Try this link for some contacts.

You will need to identify the screw thread size.
