| Gear interested | Anyone modified a MXL V67G mic?
I have a couple of MXL V67G mics that sound really good even if they costs two times the money and would like to modify one so I could compare. Any ideas are welcome. Suggestions for resistors, capacitors, transformers, etc. Thanks, prw |

this might seem a bit trivial, but the inner mesh of the grille has been known to resonate with the body of MXL microphones, and many have recomended removing it. I did it to my pair of 2003s, and noticed an improvement of lower midrange clarity, though the harsh high end it still there. i dont know how much that would affect the v67, as i havent tried mine other than testing them to ensure functionality since i removed the inner mesh. Ill post pictures of which screws get removed. |
