ribbed or not ribbed tubes

Hi all,
I'm replacing the JJ input tube in a 610 preamp with a Telefunked tube. Should I used a ribbed one or flat.

As long as it's the same type of tube (replacing a 12ax7 w/ a 12ax7) then I wouldn't think it would matter.

(Sorry to spoil the party with an actual tube opinion.. )
In my experience the smooth plate teles are quite superior in terms of sensitivity, openness, and smoothness.
I BELIEVE the ribbed teles were actually manufactured by someone else (RFT? Siemens?) and just branded teles-

Interesting. I'll have to check a quad I have at home. I know they have the diamond on the bottom, I just can't remeber if they are smooth, ribbed, or ultra sensitive. Really, I'll check.

RFT and Siemens did in fact make some tubes for Telefunken (some EL34's I know for sure and as well for Siemens), not sure about RFT and the 12AX7 connection with Telefunken, since RFT 12AX7's seem to break up sooner than the Teles, but you never know.
