UA 2-610 Mods?

We've got a few UA preamps at the studio and they've always had this low mid "honk" I never liked.

Has anyone poked around inside? I'm sure a tube swap would make some difference but I was wondering if anyone has played around with the circuit to clean it up a little

Hi
Valves don't 'honk' you will be looking in the wrong direction.
If it has an output transformer, make sure it is 'terminated' correctly (600 Ohms ?).

Thanks Jim. I'll keep that in mind...hopefully in the near future I can try a transformer swap on one and see how it sounds and maybe do an A/B
