Plugging tuners into parallel inputs

Is it ok to plug a tuner into the other parallel input on an amp since theyre parallel the tuner should be seeing the same voltage as the other input right? Well I tried it and it worked. Is there a potetntial to damage the amp doing this? What if there is a high gain and a low gain input? I have some knowledge of electronics but im worried that i know just enough to be dangerous.

Hi
You won't damage the amp and I would expect there is some form of crude limiter in the tuner which allows it to accept a wide range of input levels. It is after all only 'looking' for the zero crossing points of whatever signal it sees, so that it can work out the timing and hence the frequency..
