Thread Starter | Passive Summing with Different Audio Interfaces
Hi Guys,
I bow to your superior knowledge and hope you can help. Tried posting this on another sub-Forum but had no takers.
I intend to get a passive summing mixer and use a Prism Orpheus for 8 outs and an RME UCX for the other 8 outs.
I remember reading somewhere about passive summers and problems with different impedances. Don't know if this is applicable?
Setting latency aside, can I use 2 different audio interfaces with a passive summer (either Folcrom or Rascal Audio Tone Buss)?
Also, what about patching different outboard between the DA stems and the summing mixer? And can I bypass 1 or 2 AD-DA stems and go via balanced outs on channel strips direct into the summer? Does slightly varying impedances affect passive summing devices? Is it OK to send any combination of balanced line level signals (from different devices/manufacturers) to a passive summer?
I figured you guys would know more than anyone else...
Thanks.
