Altec 633 salt shaker repair ?

Hi,

I've got an Altec 633 salt-shaker mic that is in need of repair. It used to work fine, but now won't put out any signal. Does anyone know a good mic repair person who is knowledgeable about old Altec mics? I used to have a number for an older gentleman in California who knew the entire Altec line quite well, but I'm sad to say I've lost his invoice that had his info on it.

Many thanks,

-- dave

Are you able to examine the connections (including the impedance-selection screws, etc.)? Everyone should have a cheap ($5) multi-meter to do simple continuity and resistance tests. Chances seem good that it is a simple broken connection somewhere, especially if you can measure the output pins and find them open-circuit.

Photos and original instruction sheet can be found here...
