FMR RNC not powering up anymore..

I have a pair of RNC units that haven't been used in a while. I have a onespot 9v 1700ma power supply and both of the units aren't powering up. The rating on the back back says 9v 500ma. Not sure if I'm being a pretendgineer and missing something. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The RNC requires an AC power supply. A compatible adapter would say 9 VAC at 500ma.

Is the supply you are using dc? It would say something like 9 vdc 1700ma. If it is like that, then you are using the wrong kind of supply.

The amperage rating (the ma part) of the power supply can exceed the rating of the unit, but the voltage rating must be the same.

If this is too much info, feel free to post a picture of the ratings part of your power supply and I'll be happy to help you.

Sorry, I just looked up the unit you described (didn't realize you had said a model number). It is in fact a dc supply. The RNC requires an AC power supply.

You want something rated at 9 volts AC, with 500ma or more current rating.
