I'll try and explain this the best I can, and see if anyone has any advice.

I'm trying to find a way to use ableton audio clips to trigger visuals in another programme - probably TouchDesign or Resolume - as part of a Live AV act.

From what I can gather, it's difficult to use the audio clips to do this. I've read about Plastikman's use of Max for Live to use the audio clips to send a MIDI trigger to a different system to activate visuals.

There would be a two laptop set up - one PC one Mac. We're at the stage where we each have our work - but are unsure how to get the laps to 'talk' to each other. A friend suggested creating a network which each would log onto where the Music laptop would be in control and the visuals the slave...?

Basically certain audio clips when played would trigger certain animations or vid in the partner programme, and effects added to the clips (delays/filters etc) would also have an effect visually...

any thoughts are welcome
