Slide Fader Sub

Hello,
I'm working with a mixer board that needs a new 50K main fader.
Cant find one with all of the specs needed at that resistance value.
However I found a 100K dual element slide pot that would fit.
Is there any reason I cant simply connect both elements in parallel
in order to reach the needed value?

Thanks.
