Focal Twin SMOKING

I walked into my studio tonight, turned everything on, and within 10 minutes one of my Focal Twins started to make crackling noises and a light colored smoke came out of the sides!!! This lasted a minute or more...I contacted Focal but don't expect to hear from them immediately.
Anyone have any recommendations on what to do? Is this a fire hazard? I don't want to leave the room just in case, but it also smells like chemical smoke a bit (not strong).
What could have caused this? (Note: this speaker was dropped about 9 months ago).
Thank you kindly for your help.

Did you unplug the speakers? Light smoke and a "chemical' smell sounds like a electrolytic cap blew or a resistor overheated, but it could be anything. Did it start to hum? Did it continue to work?

I wouldn't even try to run any further testing. Applying power again could cause further damage.

These days most electronic components are self-extinguishing, so if there was no immediate fire, there is little likelihood of any fire later as long as the unit is unplugged from your power line. The Focal Twin's amplifiers are fused at 4 amps each (North America) which is a lot of current so a lot of heat can be generated in a short time. Keep it unplugged and get it back to a Focal dealer ASAP.

Smoke = burnt material
Open up and look for burnt part like board, wire, resistor, anything
there is high current flowing especially around power supply and amplifier parts
A shortcut can cause power supply overload and burnt board (the modern power stabilitor ICs are shortcut and overheating protected but the board itself where high current is flowing will burn).
