Desperately need help with XLR pass through

Ok so I started building a XLR pass through panel so I don't have to crawl behind the rack to plug in mics, snakes etc.

I used the Middle Atlantic 2 space universal punch out panel (32 channel), and the Neurtik NC3FD-L-B-1 connectors. I wired it with Mogami 2932 8 channel snake (2 of them for 16 channels). Male XLR's on one end and the other end soldered to the connectors on the panel. I twisted the drain wire and the ground wire together and soldered them to pin 3 (ground) hot and cold went to the correct pins of course.

Everything was hooked up in the rack,, worked fine with the dynamic mics when testing, however I couldn't get phantom power through for the condenser mics.

What did I do wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated, I'm at the end of my nerves now.

I attached a photo of the XLR connector in the panel. I already removed all cabling to start over.

Pin 2 - high (+)
Pin 3 - low (-)
Pin 1 - Shield

Move your ground/shield to pin 1

XLR pin 1 is isolated from the metal of the connector. That fourth tab is used to strap pin 1 to the chassis metalwork. In your application, I'd ignore it.
