Sonic benefit to hardwiring the EQ out of a channel strip??

I'm in the never-ending project of modding a 32 channel Delta 200 board, and I was wondering if there is a sonic benefit to hardwiring the eq bypass? I rarely ever use the eq on the board and I was just thinking that it could be benefitial to just cut it out all together.

With the EQ switch out, it's already "bypassed". All of the Soundcraft designs do that.
