Sorry to jump in, but on the topic, does anyone know where to get the knob caps for these? Need two black ones, a yellow one and a red.....

I found some, a long time ago, at a high end pro audio corporation in the UK. These were not cheap, 30£ or so..
But can't find the link (or remember the name). Hate when that happens!
It's surprisingly difficult to find anything about these (just did a search of an hour)

I think you can get the knob caps at reichelt.de - but if you find some, I'm interested.

schematic for the MK3d is at www.kubarth.com

the search coninues.....

Several years ago, I went through a similar search for Jeanrenaud switches as used in various Neve and Amek desks. C&K components, best known for their mini toggle switches and as the current manufacturer of the "Schadow" pushbutton switches, had also purchased Jeanrenaud. Several calls to the USA headquarters of C&K pretty much came up empty. The older style rotaries apparently are no longer made. I gathered it was because the european ROHS regulations made it not profitable for them to re-engineer the products to meet the new stringent laws.

(DO NOT get me started on the ROHS topic, one of the most stupid bureaucratic nightmares of the past decade.)

Colin at Audio Maintenance shows one Jeanrenaud switch in his catalog pages, and he may have other versions if you email him:

Audio Maintenance Limited Switches

Looks like you will be seeking NOS for those rotaries.

Best,

Bri

Well, there were MANY different Jeanrenaud switches....different numbers of poles and positions, etc. If Colin has any, then it will be a crap shoot to find the exact version, and once those are gone, it will be the end of that NOS supply source.

AFAIK, no other company made anything identical to those switches.

Several years ago, I spent some time searching for a Jeanrenaud substitute but came up totally empty-handed. My application was replacing some faulty gain switches in a Neve desk. So, I'm also interested in any ideas as well.

Talk about a coincidence ... I was thumbing through the switch section of the current Mouser (paper) catalog looking for something else and a drawing of a Jeanrenaud switch jumped off the page at me:

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogusd/645/1863.pdf

But, clicking on any of the four choices came up with "no stock" at Mouser. They DO have a link to a data sheet (from russia!):

http://pdf.eicom.ru/datasheets/itt_i...ies_rotary.pdf

However, putting in various part numbers into the "search" function at C&K's website still comes up with "no such part found". The mystery continues.....
