Kepex gates wiring question

So I'm making some xlr breakouts for a rack of kepex gates. for the inputs, there is a +, a -, and a ground...everything normal. But on the output, the + and - is on the same screw, and then there's the ground. So i just put the + and - on the same one, but it doesn't work. Can anyone explain?

Hi
If I recall the outs are unbalanced so wire pin 2 XLR to +, 3 to - and screen to ground if you want.

well, the inputs are normal, with 3 different screws for a +, a -, and ground.

The outputs is what i'm having an issue with. There's only two screws for the output, one is ground and the other is both + and -. I tried just tying the + and - ends onto the one screw and the ground to ground, but it doesn't work.

It won't work if you do it your way.
If you are using XLR tails into a balanced input from the OUTPUT of your Keepex then do as I said. Pin 2 of XLR is hot, to + screw. Pin 3 of XLR is cold and goes to ground and pin 1 of XLR also goes to ground although it may not be necessary into a BALANCED input.
