Blue Spark Mic Mod - HELP!

Hi all,

I'm really hoping someone can help me out here. I'm replacing the capsule on a Blue Spark and I am having a difficult time trying to remove the headbasket.

Can anyone offer any advice? I've contacted the company, and they've told me the headbasket was not designed to be removable by anyone else besides them. I'm curious if there is anyone out there who has changed the capsule in this mic, and could offer some pointers. I'm about to cut the grill off to get in.

I would really appreciate any advice on how to remove the headbasket.

I have not worked on one, but based on what I've seen in photos, it looks like the the grill assembly is not designed to be serviceable. The Bluebird and Baby Bottle use a different headbasket design where the rear grill is removeable via a few screws.

If that mic came into BLUE for service, it is probably more efficient to replace the whole head assembly capsule and all. It probably costs them 20 bucks for the capsule and maybe 5 dollars for the metalwork.

The whole headbasket assembly can likely be removed by removing the bottom cap near the XLR connector and then removing the body tube allowing access to the nut securing the headbasket assembly.

Why do you want to replace the capsule anyways?
