| Measuring high(er) current on mic pre inputs - safe for mics?
I recently built an AML EZ1073 pre/EQ from a kit. To make sure that the phantom power was good before I hooked it up to my mics, I measured voltage and current across the XLR inputs and compared that to what I measured on some of my other pre's. Voltages were pretty close to the same, but the current was about double (+/-13mA) that of my other pre's (+/- 6.5mA). I had a friend who is a guitar amp tech look at it and he seems to think all is well, but I just thought to ask here as well. Is the higher current of any concern or should it be safe to use with my condensers?
