Google "Phono preamp"

Or use a 1980s amp.
They all had a build in phono pre.
Phono leads into amp, amp input selector set to phono, tape rec out R/L to mixer.
No other leads or speakers needed.

Drummer in my band has an old pioneer amp, I will hit him up to lend it to me, it's valve as well, I got enough of his shit at mine he can add the pioneer to the list, thanks heaps, let ya know how it sounds.
