Trials and tribulations of a colorblind DIYer

There is nothing worse than getting your order of resistors and realizing they shipped them with no labels.

Time to bug my fiance like a 3 year old- "what color is this?"

(hrmph...)

Ha, I accidentally dumped the resistor cabinet once at worked, looked at everyone and smiled as I said, Well, glad I'm color blind.

I then grabbed the fluke and spent loooooots of time refiling the resistors

Dale used to make Mil-Spec resistors with text printed on them instead of color codes....

Probably just as well even with color vision. I seem to be having trouble telling orange from brown and violet from black, and sometimes the 1% resistors can be read in either direction (since the tolerance stripe is brown.)

I'm building a pile of SCA pres and would never have gotten through them without a DMM.
