Question regarding snake cable

In a Canare multipair snake cable, Each pair has one colored wire and one clear. Which one is generally hot?

BTW, The snake i have is bare wire at one end and an ELCO 56 connection at the other end. Im soldering wall plates that will connect into a patchbay.

Thanks!

If there is a connector at on end and it really matters (all of them will be the same no mater how you build this), then you'll have to get a meter and check.
