Passive attenuator for 65kOhm input Dynaudios Bm6a

Hello and sorry for my english:
I want a stepped attenuator for my Dynaudio Bm6a MkII. They have a input of 65kOhm. What impedance do you sugest for the attenuator 10kOhm, 25kOhm or 50kOhm??? Do you have some experiences???
Thanks

Hi,
No practical experience..
IMHO, you design the attenuator for the output of the driving gear (D/A), not for the input of the monitor.
Low values, because of hiss.
As low as the output can comfortably handle without increased distortion.

Thanks for the reply. The goldpoint web speak over the match with the impedance amp input but not over the impedance out of d/a or other source.
Thanks

Hi.
Is just seems locical to me to design with the D/A in mind.
Lots of post here with monitor hiss problems.
High resistor values isn't going to help here.
I would think, the monitors should not "see" values over about 2-5Kohm ballanced.
Keep in mind that they normally see the (less than 100ohm) impedance of the D/A.
Maybe someone with experience could chime in.

Hi
While having high resistance attenuators can influence the hiss, you should use as LOW as possible, that the SOURCE can drive comfortably as it is the capacitance of the cabling between the attenuator and the monitors that is going to mess with the signal.
If the SOURCE can manage to drive 600 Ohms (which PROPER professional gear can), then using a 1K or 2K attenuator would be reasonable.
The output impedance of a piece of gear is NOT a measure of the ability to 'drive' the following piece of gear.

Thanks...
Why makers like goldpoint or dact recommend 10kOhms??? I found stepped attenuator from china on Ebay. What do you think???

Hi
Because they don't understand studio gear and wiring probably.
10K is fine if you are using it INSIDE a piece of gear where there is practically no wiring following it.
