Thread Starter | DIY MIC : GYRAF G7 or IOAUDIO MK47 ?
I plan to make a DIY tube microphone. I hesitate between Gyraf G7 and Ioaudio MK47. Wich one is better sounding? I know that sound depends on the quality of the parts that are mounted. Parts will be: My first choice for the capsule is the Dale M7 but it's not avalaible for the moment. I'm in the waiting list, I will order one as soon as it's ready. - RK47 from microphoneparts.com or - AK47 from Advanced Audio Microphones Welcome to advices and recomandations. Jam |

Both are good options. Build the one that you feel confident about electronically and mechanically (and the one that fits whatever hardware/mechanics/housing you can get hold on locally) For a capsule you may want to consider the Campbell Transmitter CT12 (if you can persuade Tim to put you on the waiting list; he's been swamped with work lately). Not at all cheap, but worth every penny. Jakob E. |

Thanks Jakob, I will order a pcb to Gustav in the next days and I'll try to be on the waiting list for a Campbell Transmitter CT12. Is the MK47 sound close to U47? |
