Dead/White noise from one output on Behringer 4-way headphone amp

Hi guys

I have one of the cheap 4 way, 19" Behringer headphone amp units. The HA4700 I believe.

Channel 3 doesn't work though. It simply emits a crapload of white noise on the left headphone channel. None of the knobs or buttons make any difference, and no signal goes through from what I can tell.

Anyone know what might cause this, and if it's an easy fix?

Strange to me that it generates noise all in its own.

I know it's a cheap, crappy Behringer unit, but it does the job just fine, so of its an easy fix I'd rather do that than simply throwing in the bin.

Thanks!

Essie

I have heard of this problem many times. It will cost more to fix it than it is worth. Many repair shops no longer do repairs on Behringer.

Post some pics of the inside.
You will probably find 4 areas that look the same.
With the same chips etc.
Follow the broken headphone jack to the corresponding area.
There you will find the output chip that is most likely blown.
Depending on it's packaging, it will be easy or hard to replace.
