Beyerdynamic M88 repair

I'm working on an M88 that appears to have a bad element. Has anyone had any luck repairing the m88. Is there anywhere I can order a new element (or diaphragm assembly, whatever you call it)?

I'm new to the forum so let me know if this is the wrong place to post this question.

If you're talking about an older model, prior to the TG line, it will probably need to be replaced. Was the grille all pushed in and sticking out from the ring because the mic had been dropped/abused? The plastic spider or fingers usually broke and pressed into the diaphragm. I'm not a repair tech, but i worked for the largest Beyer outlet in the country and I saw a lot of mics damaged in a similar way. I don't know what the shop guys did, but I'm pretty sure that it was replacement, not repair, of the head assembly. Contact your local Beyer distributor for parts, but he may send you to the local authorized repair shop. Nice mic, I still have one. Back in the day you'd find it on stage as the vocal mic for CS&N, Bowie, Phil Collins, Elton John, Pat Benatar, ....

Success! For the record, all of beyerdynamic's repair parts come from sound surgeons in the NYC area. They were very easy to work with. Their contact info is on beyerdynamics website.

Thanks for the help this mic sounds great.
