DBX 160S (blue)

I have a DBX 160S that's not working properly.
As soon as i'm lowering the threshold it starts to distort.
No compression = no distortion.
However when i put it in automode it works without distortion.
Anyone knows what the problem might be?
A little strange that it works in automode but not in normal.

That is a weird one. What happens if you adjust the settings in manual mode? Especially to something gentle, if you are trying a more aggressive setting. Other than that, the "V-8" VCA modules do go bad in these things after a while.
Best,
Ike

In manual mode there is distortion ok it's a little less with gentle compression but more than 3db it's unusable.
How about the VCA i mean it works great in automode even with 12db compression there is no distortion.
I know the vca's goes bad, is it possible to get some new V8's?
Thank you for your answer!

I wouldn't rush out and buy new VCA's just yet. I'll try and look at the drawings later and look for some other cause. Do you have the tech skills and tools to work on a piece like this? If not you should take it to someone who does.
Best,
Ike
