Focusrite ISA 220 power supply

Hy guys, my Focusrite ISA 220 had a fault and the assistance told me they need to replace the power supply. Have you any idea if is possible to find spare parts anywhere out there or any idea of the specifics of the part i need?

I'm asking this because I have a person that can fix the ISA but we need to find the piece and valutate how much we need to spend

Thanks in advance

Hi there. We need a better translation of "alimentation" before we can help you...or at least a picture of the bad part.
Ciao!

Ah. I knew it couldn't be "food". Can you tell us more about what the power supply is / isn't doing?

The units, doesn't power up anymore.

At the beginning of the problem it powered up, but the led light didn't work. The signal passed in the units (I can see the upper led going on, but not the vu) and there was no otuput.

After one or two times, if I power up the ISA it just dont work

I repeat, my technician said the I need to change all the power supply block

Instead of replacing the power supply block, which is always the simplest way of troubleshooting, why not diagnose the particular part in question and just replace it? If the voltage isn't correct or missing, it should really be a no-brainer to narrow it down. Just work backwards from the load side until you see some DC. If you don't see DC work back until you see AC and figure were the stoppage occurs. You may even find out that it's something further down the line that is shorting the DC to ground. A new power block probably won't solve your problem if this is the case. It all depends on what circuitry is residing on the power block.

+1. I just took a quick look at the schematic. It should be totally repairable. If you don't have the resources there, send it to a tech.
I really wish people would say where in the world they are when they start a thread like this...

Thanks a lot Ike, you're right and I've already edited my profile.

Can you tell me where didi you find the schematics, is it enough to look at those included in the manual?

Thank in advance

I have the schematics because I service Focusrite products and I can't give them out for the same reason. I'm not sure what's in the manual, but it may just be a block diagram. I agree with Dennis that it's a pretty straightforward supply and that you need to go through and isolate the fault. Also, as Dennis mentioned above, the fault may be in the unit itself as the voltage regulators will self-protect and shut down if they are operating into a short circuit. If you see a small voltage, like around 1.3 volts on any supply rail, that's often a hint that the regulator is ok and just in current limit mode to protect itself.
Best,
Ike
