Thread Starter | Clean SSL P&G moving faders
Hey everyone, I'm sure there has been a detailed discussion about how to clean SSL P&G moving faders, but I have not been able to locate a succinct article. Can someone help guide me in the right direction? Thanks Eric |

All you need to clean P&G faders is a little bit of warm water and a cotton bud. Wipe the track carefully, dry with another cotton bud. Lubricate the rails with a little bit of silicon grease. P&G's are exceptionally good faders, and will live for 50 years plus. |

Hi While cleaning the fader track itself is relatively easy, messing up the motor / string assembly is a royal PITA unless you have at least 5 hands to hold all the bits at the same time. The slide bars should be 'oiled' with silicone oil, not grease (which will be too thick) and only use the tiniest amount as it MUST NOT get any chance to get onto the track assembly. The easiest way to restring one of these is with an new piece of suitable cord as there is insufficient length to pull the 'knot' tight if you have pulled it apart. Good luck, and patience! Matt S |

not for the moving ones, but the other simple p&g faders, i always opened them (like 30pcs) and put them in the dishwasher without detergent. the come out clean as a babyface, let them dry, then put some deoxid in the switches and clean the rails with cotton buds. always worked perfect
