By the way, Jim, do you think it worth to use the Jensen transformers on these modules?
Do you know any other transformers not that expensive?.....

Thanks a lot,

Jose

Transformers come in two types: those you hear and those you don't. I prefer the second choice. That means Jensen. They are also large, too fat for a 1 RU case. At $108 each, they are a bargain.

For trannies you don't (much) hear Lundahls are also worth consideration, or for ones you do hear a bit more Cinemags, Sowters and on the cheap, Edcors. Plenty of us do like to hear them, too.....

You don't need the top of the line Jensen, consider the maximum output of the Sony, depending on the supply rail voltage if its +-18V, that's around +22dBu..I would use the Mid level Jensen..
The Higher voltage would require a Larger output transformer, +-24V for example generates around +24.5dBu...
The Low frequency's will saturate the transformer first..
The distortion is low on all Jensen's, the larger ones are even lower...around .002% @ 20Hz...That's LOW...
