Maybe not a drum tuner but a drum helper or something type in the amount of lugs and it gives you the tention order or something then you won't be going against your tuner design. Maybe it'll get you that little be of press going you might need to start getting more units out.

It looks like the link to Prof Sounds Drum tuning bible is down.. Anybody know the status of Scott? Is he OK?

i'd be well interested if you made some cheaper 'brainless' hardware (with 2 speakers + mic? that just sits on 2 drumsticks) for an iphone to connect to. i phone has stereo out, mic in doesn't it, like a handsfree kit? that would be very slick.. and your ip would be tied in to needing the physical thingy... and it would allow MANY saved memories, and helpfully named ones at that.... cmon cmon man, you know you wanna!

and being able to set A at something different to 440 too....

I agree this is just making the traditional approach a little more scientific, but it is quite appealing!... maybe a little weight could do the job of the finger fairly reliably? the drum stick is still variable though eh..
