Need info on vintage Presto corp mic

My mother purchased this mic at a flea market for about 50 cents. And it's been displayed on a shelf ever since. All I know about it is that it's a mic made by Presto Recording Corp somewhere between 1930 - 1950. Upon researching online I couldn't find anything about it. So my question to anyone who might know, How valuable (if at all ) is it? and is it a ribbon mic? Thanks!

Looks like a carbon mic to me...

It may have an interesting sound as an effect mic - you'll probably need to plug it into something that can handle high-impedance (like a guitar port).

I'm trying to get this mic back into working shape, or atleast get some repairing experience from it. So far during my internship I've only repaired cables. Could I remove the cable from the screw and solder a balanced mic cable to it? I'm pretty sure it requires some kind of power supply, any suggestions? Thanks for your reply
