Thread Starter | A summing build.
I got rid of my medium footprint analogue desk, A&H GS3000, last year because I decided I had had my last hissy fit over the clutter in my very small, (11' x 9'), workspace. I had convinced myself that I didn't need it. Personally, however, minimalism hasn't worked for me. I don't want the hassle of cramming another medium footprint into a small space and I can't afford even something like a Sumo at present, (8 channels would be enough).... not unless I want to rob a bank and risk some large, hairy man saying "Yo luk kinda purdy" in the showers at Wormwood Scrubbs one day. So I'm thinking that I have a 24 x 2 B-type Mosses & Mitchell patchbay sat around doing nothing. It's in superb nick with the connectors clean as a whistle and the joints only ever been soldered once. I've also got a nice stock of pres, but I don't want to spend US$1000 on a Fulcrom. I've said to myself several times that it shouldn't be that hard to put together a good summing solution with this as a starting point, I've found a schematic a monkey could solder here, but now I'm confronted with actually doing it, my confidence has evaporated and I'm wondering if I've missed something.

Guess I must have been searching under too tight criteria. I'll have a read of that and see if any other questions come to mind. | |

No sweat. There's mention of a DIY forum in that thread. I suggest you check that out as well. I've thought about building one myself, but I think I'm gonna wait for feedback on the new Toft console first. Let me know how it goes for you.

I can tell you that the values change with the number of channels. Plus this is a mono diagram. Can any of your preamps take a 600 ohm input? Just some things to think about before you start soldiering....
