Share your patchbay setup!

Hello!

This question/topic may have been in the forum in the past, but i couldn't find anything like it just off the search engine in here. If there is similar posts existing please let me know! Thanx.

I am about to reorganize the patchbay in my studio, and at the moment I am setting up a XL workbook with a blueprint of it. So I was just wondering if any of you gearslutz fellows have blueprints or pictures with lables visible of your respective patchbays and setups and would like to upload and share them in this forum. I realize that there probably are huge differences between the studiosetups in here, but it would be interesting to see how people wire their stuff together in detail. There are so many clever ways of doing this, and I'm sure there is a thing or two to pick up just by looking into different systems either it is based around a 80ch desk with tape machines or just preamps into daw.

Thank you!

Cheers,

Eide.

I have everything normaled. At least everything that makes sense to normal. I have two patchbays. First one starts out with 24 mic ins. Those are normaled to 24 preamp ins. The second bay starts with 24 preamp outs normaled to 24 converter ins. Back to the right side of the first bay. I have 24 converter outs normaled to 24 channels of my console for monitoring during tracking. This makes for a world of possibilities when it comes to headphones. And on the right side of the second bay is all of my outboard compressors and eqs plus a couple of points for main board out, CD recorder, 2 Trk in, Ext in, etc. I have a really cool label template in Excel, BTW, in case anyone wants a copy. It was graciously given to me by the guy who wires all of the SSL rooms in town. That and some glossy photo paper, you got yourself some professional looking shee-ot! That's how I roll!

For some reason, I can't attach a Microsoft Excel document to a post. Any ideas?

Here's what I'm building now... PT HD3 with a tonelux mixer and a bunch of outboard... It's all on elco's in the back, so any patch bay quadrant can be used for anything. I have part of it on another gig right now with tape over the labels! I have a guy here in LA who does all my stuff and he's great and not terribly expensive... Let me know if you need a number or an XL file...

I did my layout in excel, but i dont have a mixer so it's rather basic. It's just a few mic pres normalled into ptools ins with ptools outs normalled into the folcroms ins. If anyone wants a copy I'll find it and post

My first sheet of the workbook was for the patch bays with a second sheet for setting up the rackspace layouts
