Thumbs up Robot mic stands

after a quick search on the forum i didn't found anything like that ...
in the new product video from NI (another amp modeler) Rammstein guitarist explains his setup and talk about 4 seconds about his robotic mic stands, which are just ... i dunno the right word !
look at this YouTube - Richard Z. Kruspe on the Rammfire amp emulation
he starts talkin about it at 2'50

I looked into manufacturing something like this a few years back (as did other people on this board I have seen) until I realised its been done many times before and no one had made any money out of it

Find your self a nerd and you should be able to make your own. Or you could even do it out of some kind of robotic toy. Lego possibly even.

i think the concept interested me until i saw it was done ...
the robot arm from the rammstein's guitarist studio is way more exciting
maybe because it doesn't look like a stand for handicapped people.

anyway, thanks for your links, let's go back to my good old K&M

so all i need to do is plunk down 1k/unit and I can "fire" my intern?
when the stand can run for a sandwich, i'll consider it.

and why, pray tell, must the majority of boom arms be self-loosening? did it not occur to anyone that flipping the hardware would create a design that won't allow your 87 to smash against it's own stand?

robotic mic stand was nothing more then 2 cnc machines with a mic attached to the z axis and another stepper to pivate the mic if you want to do it right try a robotic arm on a rc platform.

Well, this topic is reappearing in two different threads....and I dunno which one to make postings in....although my observations are related to robotics for television cameras.
