FWIW, I've had various problems with A-H power supplies, especially the ones enclosed in the perforated metal. One thing to test is run the AC mains from a variac, and be SURE the regulation holds up "under load" when you crank the mains down to, say, 110 VAC. Best, Bri |

I love these kind of threads...very cool and very electro-geeky! When I looked at the first pictures of this board it made me think of the ZED R16, different panel colors of course but very similar layout and look! I think the main LED meter is almost identical I guess not much changes. Is there any history on this model? It looks like the schematic was dated 1984! As far as the PSU, if there is any problem with it, there are several really good OEM style PSU modules out there these days that produce highly accurate and regulated supply rails...pretty much custom choose and assemble...check Mouser's catalog! There's nothing like having a really serious reliable power supply for things like this!....and they aren't really that expensive to build for what they can provide in reliability and circuit confidence! Please keep the photos coming....Good Luck and I hope everything runs smoothly when your done! |

More updates please!! Just found this thread, contemplating recapping my SR-12 Plus, starting with the power supply. I've got a few other projects (recap the bass amp, recap and install the pm-1000s, etc.) on my plate right now but the PSU should be quick and easy, and this thread makes me want to get a move on so I can start this project up. Off to order filter caps and then recap/fix the rest of the bass amp. Thanks! ~b |

I know what you mean, I'm perpetually in the middle of projects, but at least I've focused my interests to just music and transportation. I botched my orders so I did everything I could with the bass amp last night, so I'm ordering the last missing bits and will add in the parts for the PSU. In the meantime I bought 4 more pm-1000s and am really glad I saved my order as a project on mouser. And the cycle begins again. Get back to it Brotha! ~b |

Hey Doulos, thanks for all the cool info and pics! Did you get the mixer finished in the end and how does it sound?? I just got an SR 416 myself and would like to sort the PSU and a few other bits, I'm going to use your thread as a guide and was wondering if you still have a record of part numbers/names for the caps, opamps, faders etc and perhaps any other advice you could offer?? Thanks again for the awesome thread Col |

I hear these perforated power supplies are nothing special, if not outdated. But, I may have a schematic, or could open it up and see what's under the hood. I recapped it last year while working on some other projects and I don't think there's a whole lot to it. Let me know. ~b |

I used to own an SR416 and I fixed the power supply. It is just a simple +/-15VDC power supply, there may be a rail for +48VDC phantom power. A&H can supply schematics is you want to know the wiring of the connector.
