D.I.Y. rack mounting pre's

yo.

so i'm bored, and i got a few channels lying around from various boards, that if they so happened to explode in an experiment, they probably wouldn't be missed.

so I'm wanting to try out rack mounting a few channels to check my skills.

where do i start other then the schematics?

Powersupply. I have half of the two items you need. I went JLM so I have a used powertran Worldpower 110/220 psu 12vac/12vac. Trade me something for it.....I also recently went fivefish and you may go there because it is USA and a nit cheaper and he has nice stuff.

Schemo, rack enclosure, dpdt's, wire, soldering station with desoldered, flux, a magnifying glass/holder/contrapcion to hold some components at times and patience.

i don't have a whole lot to give really, but i'll try. what do you want?

i got all the soldering supply's.

by the way the two channels in question are soundcraft, 1 series 800 and 1 series 600. a good introduction to these kinda things because if it burns, it's just some soundcraft pre's. no biggie.

EDIT: come to think of it, f the 600. i got 24 channels of that shit already!

i got a presonus bluetube, the older model. it's pretty much a doorstop, but there's mods out there for it if that sort of thing interests you.

that series 600 channel, but again probably not very interesting.

i have a p.c. power supply doing nothing still in the box.

yeah, like i said, i pretty much have nothing of interest. i usually sell off the goodies unfortunately.

I'll try and dig something up. hit me back with stuff you need.

Either JLM or Fivefish in Tn. There are others but those spring to mind first.

cool.

now all i need is schematics for the ramsa and the 800. can't seem to find em anywhere.

the 600 is coming along fine however. i decided to go with it cause im most familiar with it and i could send it over to jim williams and see the difference in mods.

now it's just time money and figuring out the wiring.
