cassette tape head ?s for tape-violin idea

Hi there, I've taken apart an old boom box and I want to make the old violin-bow-with-the-tape-on-it-plays-the-tape-head-like-a-violin.

Basically, I wonder if I should try to use the boombox's electronics, possibly even its speakers and just remount the tape head on the back of it, or if I should make a new set of electronics?

Is there a cassette tape head amplifier schematic floating around?
