Thread Starter | Hey guys.In the fashion of a lot of threads on this forum wanting to see pictures of peoples gear and studios,i would like to start one as well.Only a little different. I still want to see your gear, just your other gear. The gear you use to make the gear all these people are posting pictures of.I want to see your workstation, see how you like your desk set up,what tools and equipment you have and prefer using, any special tools that you find are indisspensible.Tell me why you choose the tools you use, what makes them great for this kind of work Any kind of DIY tools or special jigs, that you have made your hold your enclosures while you work,or to hold components together to solder, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, anything at all. I am really getting into making gear and would like to see all you guys setups. Thanks Justin

| Ok I'll bite. Here is mine. I live in an apartment and I took one room and dedicated it to my office / workshop. I like what I have for the space. The Mackie in the 2nd picture was a pain to work on. I need to remember to charge more when I work on one of those again! ![]() -Dave |

| I use a Big bass fishing Plano tackle box. Meter, soldering iron and tools go in the bottom. Electronic components go in the lure compartments. My bench is wherever I want it to be. At work, on my home dining room table. Anywhere. |

| OK I'll play this is one of my benches. I don't have many pics of the whole area as it's crowded with benches and machines and I take pics of the work as I go but you get the picture. |

| It's for cutting the dovetail mortice in the end block before the back and top are glued on. It cuts an exact opposite of the tenon jig I use for the neck. This jig and it's other half are in MDF because thats all I had to hand and it was a one off. I normally build them in perspex and or marine ply. They last longer that way. |

Thread Starter | Ok,so i only know what a couple of things in this room are for.Oscilloscope, and multimeter. It would be great if you could describe some gear and what you use it for.If you dont want to you do not have to,im just trying to learn a little bit,as im sure a few others are,and you obviously know what you are doing with a shop like this. Just do one piece at a time. Top shelf far left, looks like a big VU meter on the front. What is it?What do you use it for? Thanks |

| My favorite piece of test gear is my true RMS voltmeter. It's a Radio Shack (don't laugh -- it was OEMd by someone else) which I picked up for under $100 about 12 years ago when true RMS meters were going for around triple the price. It is invaluable for audio measurements. A picture later. Mine will be the messiest bench hands down. |
