However, I really hate to return these because I got a great deal on it and love 'em, other than the RFI. | |

hi, im investigating about this also , i have a VXT4. something that helps to keep put the RFI at 95% was this: Put a new little cable on the head (ground ) of the TRS cable that is conected to the VXT , and then conect this new cable to the upper screw of the VXT back panel. Dont know why exactly but works. |

Hi This suggests that the RFI protection of these monitors is not as it 'should' be. You could also experiment with ferrite cores to see if you can reduce it further. Pin 1 of an XLR or sleeve of a jack must be bonded with a very short link to the chassis at the connector so that RF flows into the chassis and not the internal audio wiring. The audio inout should also have a passive RF filter (resistor and capacitor and possibly inductor). Matt S |

I moved my house again and the problem is gone. The VXT4's are now dead quiet. I guess the place where I lived before must have a very strong RFI.

Do you think we should put this up as a sticky. In case of rf problems in monitors, move house! |

Now that could be a criteria for buying a new house. Bring your monitors along. |

Hi The next problem is that if it is susceptable to RF noises your mobile, switch mode power supplies (computers etc) and other RF gear will also make it's presence felt. Matt S |

Luckily so far those haven't caused me any real problems. My mobile phones do only when there is a call or an incoming message.
